It's OK, We've Got BurritosJune 2012
June Taqueria Visits
6/28: Our AM slab at Taq. Castillo on McAllister is almost great...but merely quite good.
6/24: After a brief dalliance with exciting burrito-behavior last year, Taq. La Iguana Azul reverts back to boring us.
6/21: Finally! A San Francisco taqueria with the courage and aplomb to offer an alambres burrito. Pancho's on Geary pretty much nails it.
6/17: The usually reliable kitchen at Taq. Vallarta in the Excelsior spews forth the sort of burrito we'd expect to get in the Canadian Midwest, not in one of San Francisco's most taqueria-rich districts.
6/14: You could do a lot worse in the Western Addition than El Rancho Grande, where an 8.42-mustache effort sends its fortunes climbing.
6/7: Taq. Reina's slides a few notches down our Mustache Chart with a shockingly dull al pastor scud-thud.
6/4: Despite several slabular shortcomings, Público grinds out an eight-mustache win.

May Taqueria Visits
5/30: We go on the prowl for mustaches, and we find 8.17 of them at Taq. El Sol.
5/26: Taq. Vallarta on Mission welcomes us back with a colossal slab of widemouth mediocrity.

April Taqueria Visits
4/6: La Espiga de Oro sends us off on a set of sonorous, 8.75-mustache notes. Hooray!
4/2: El Tonayense -- er, Tacos San Buena -- on Shotwell is back in the eight-mustache saddle, dammit.

2012 Hiatus #2
Our judges panel has decamped for a voluntarily burrito-less (!) era abroad, overseas, etc. etc. Kindly hold the fort until late May.

Slab AppyMarch 2012
Many among you have politely inquired about a Burritoeater iPhone app for quite some time. (A few of you have even cared enough to go so far as to bellyache. Cheers.)
Politely inquire and bellyache no longer! Our San Francisco's Top 30 Taquerias iPhone app is now yours for the downloading in iTunes' App Store -- for less than the cost of a super burrito.
We've worked with the crafty upstarts at Escape Apps to help create the just-released Know What iPhone app. Know What is a city guide that recommends well over 1000 noteworthy places in and around San Francisco and Los Angeles. It's curated by experts with ultramega-granular knowledge in a specific field -- for example, San Francisco taquerias.
Visit iTunes' App Store to download Know What for $2.99. Once you do, you'll have immediate access to Know What Essentials, a selection of hundreds of recommended restaurants -- including taquerias, yup -- as well as bars, hikes, cultural spots, and more from Know What's two dozen-some contributors.
And here's where the rest of the band crashes in: For an extra $1.99, you can add all our picks by purchasing Burritoeater's own in-app guide, San Francisco's Top 30 Taquerias. It's pretty rad.
Your investment is, of course, rock-solid and market-wise, as we'll aim to keep the app regularly updated.
We're but one of many authoritative San Francisco voices involved in Know What -- others include Foodgal.com's Ultimate Guide to Bay Area Dining, Whitewallssf.com's San Francisco Street Art, and Alcademics.com's The City's Best Cocktail Spots, among several notable others. You're in savvy hands, iPhone enthusiasts.
Technology, alright.

March Taqueria Visits
3/29: Our panel is privy to eight-mustache business as usual -- albeit in a chipotle tortilla -- at Taq. El Gran Taco Loco.
3/26: Burly slab be damned! It's a distinctly unimpressive outing by El Azteca Taq.'s kitchen.
3/23: Our panel gets beaned -- right in the refrieds -- at La Canasta. So much for the Cow Hollow taqueria's storied consistency.
3/20: Taq. Miraloma comes up lame around the backstretch before limping around the rest of our oval of slabular criticism in 6.58 measly mustaches. No win, no place, and certainly no show.
3/18: Our first hiatus of 2012 culminates in burrito-shaped success at Estrella Taq.
